Welcome to Jasper. Whether you’re taking the leap and making the mountains your new home, or settling in for a season of adventure, we’ve got comfortable staff accommodation to help you feel right at home from day one.

Staff housing is available to full-time employees aged 18 and over. Accommodation options are subject to availability and preferences cannot be guaranteed.

These units are available to select skilled positions, management positions and department head positions. Each unit has 1-2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full-sized kitchen, and living space. These units come furnished and can be shared between 1-2 colleagues.

COLLEAGUE DORMITORY

CONVENIENT & CONNECTED

Live steps away from work in comfortable double or triple rooms, perfect for getting to know fellow colleagues and making fast friends.

ALL SET, ALL INCLUDED

Your space comes move-in ready with essentials like furniture, utilities, and Wi-Fi, all you need to do is show up and settle in.

Dorm living means you're never far from a friendly face, shared meals, or spontaneous mountain adventures with your new crew.

Located on property in Mountain View Village (MVV), these cabins are available to all colleagues and can accommodate 2-3 tenants. A mini fridge is provided to share between the tenants. Each tenant is allocated a twin bed, dresser, and closet space. There are shared bathrooms in all our Dormitory style accommodation.

This category of rooms has the potential to accommodate couples, although please note there is a very limited number of rooms for our couple's accommodation, and placement in these rooms is based off availability and cannot be guaranteed.

SINGLE ROOM

$4.60 - $11.69 per day

Located on property in Mountain View Village (MVV), some single rooms are assigned to select positions upon arrival. The remaining rooms are allocated based on operational needs and a waitlist system. Long-term staff can apply for the waitlist and can receive a single room when available.

These units are furnished with either a twin or double bed, mini fridge, dresser, and closet. Depending on the building, they either have 2 communal bathrooms (1 per gender) or a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom shared with the adjoining room.

TEMPORARY HOUSING

FULLY EQUIPPED & MOVE-IN READY

These temporary units offer the same independence as long-term housing, with the bonus of modern conveniences to make life a little easier.

COOL & COMFORTABLE

Stay comfortable no matter the season with air conditioning and in-unit laundry. Extras that make a big difference in day-to-day living.

SUPPORTIVE SPACE

Created in response to the Jasper wildfire, these accommodations are more than just a place to sleep, they’re a safe, welcoming home during a time of transition.

Located on property in Athabasca Crossing Village, Temporary Housing Units are assigned to select positions upon arrival. The remaining units are allocated based on an operational needs waitlist system.

Located on property in Sir Henry Thorton Village (SHTV), these units are available to select skilled positions, management positions and department head positions. Each unit has 1-2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full-sized kitchen, and living space. These units come furnished and can be shared between 1-2 colleagues.

Located near the Jasper Stables, these apartments are set well away from the hotel and guest areas, offering a quiet, private retreat, ideal for a healthy work-life balance.

Checking In?

If you are moving into Staff Housing, please go to C Cabin, which is located in our Staff Accommodation area across from the Main Lodge.

The earliest day for check in will be confirmed in your offer email. 

Please refer to your Orientation email for arrival details, and let the Staff Housing team know as soon as possible if there are any changes to your plans.

STAFF FACILITIES

Our accommodation experience goes beyond where you rest. It extends into a range of colleague facilities designed for you to enjoy every day.

'The Bean'

Open Daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

'The Bean' is our colleague cafeteria. You will receive one free meal per day. Any additional meals are charged $4.00. The hours fluctuate seasonally, although upon arrival you will receive the current hours of operation. 'The Bean' offers a different selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There is a hot and cold bar for each meal as well as multiple self-serve beverage options.

Rest & Rejuvenate Room

Open 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.

All colleagues are able to utilize our Rest and Rejuvenate room 7 days a week between the operating hours. This room has a printer, 2 computers, and a TV for colleague usage. Our Sustainability Committee has also started a ‘Take it or Leave it’ area in the R&R room for colleagues to utilize.

  • If you are moving into Staff Housing, please go to C Cabin, which is located in our Staff Accommodation area across from the Main Lodge.

     

    Driving Yourself

    If you are driving yourself onto the property, stay straight on Old Lodge Road and take the first right after the basketball court. Keep right until you come to the stop sign. You will turn left and then turn right almost immediately — C Cabin (Miette) will be straight ahead. Head inside and make your way down the hall to the Colleague Concierge desk where a member of our team will be available to welcome you.

    SunDog Tour Bus

    If you are arriving on the SunDog Tour Bus from Edmonton to Jasper, the bus will drop you off in front of the Main Lodge to the Hotel. Please stay there! A member of our team will greet you at the bus stop and bring you over to the staff accommodation area.

    Via Rail

    Please note that we do not provide transportation from the train station to Jasper Park Lodge. Cab services are available in town. (You can tell your cab driver to come to C Cabin, which is located in our Staff Accommodation area.)

  • Accommodation options are subject to availability and preferences cannot be guaranteed.

  • Rent prices vary depending on which Residence you are assigned to. This will be outlined in the lease that you sign upon your arrival.


    Rent will be automatically deducted from your pay cheque every two weeks.

  • Yes, parking is available for staff. After registering your vehicle, you will be assigned an area in which you will be permitted to park. Parking for colleagues comes at no cost!

  • Yes, registration for Colleague Parking is required.

    Additionally, Parks Canada requires residents to register their vehicle and obtain a Parks Canada Resident Pass at no charge. This can be done by visiting the Jasper National Park Registration Office within the town and bringing your vehicle registration and proof of residency. You can contact us for more information.

  • Yes! Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Please note that excessive noise is not tolerated at any time of day. Housing is shared with people who work many different shift times and we ask that you please be respectful of others.

  • Guests are allowed to stay in our Colleague Residences with the below requirements:

    • All visitors must be at least 18 years of age.

    • All visitors must be signed in with our Security Team.

    • All roommates in the accommodation must sign an agreement to permit the visitor to stay overnight.

    • If at any time your roommate would like the visitor to leave for any reason, they must leave.

    • The maximum nights a guest can stay is 4 nights.

  • For those residing in single accommodations or apartment-style housing, you will be required to purchase tenant insurance. Those that will be staying in the dorms will not be required to do so.

  • No, pets are not allowed in our Colleague Residences.
    This includes fish!

  • Colleague Residences are located close to the Main Lodge. The walk time to get to work is approximately 3-10 minutes depending on which Colleague Residence building you live in.

  • We do not have any additional storage facilities for any oversized or seasonal items. There are multiple storage facilities in the nearby town of Hinton. Unsecured Winter/Summer tire storage will be available on property. Kal Tire in Hinton does tire storage at an afforable price.

    A bedding linen package is provided upon arrival for Mountain View Village tenants, however you are welcome to bring your own bedding to help make you feel more at home.

    Sir Henry Thorton Village, Athabasca Crossing Village, and Mildred Housing tenants only:

    Jasper is a rural mountain town, which means our options can be limited, and our stores might not carry your preferred brands. The above items can, however, be purchased at:

    •    Nester's Marker (218 Connaught Dr, Jasper)
    •    Walmart (Located in the town of Hinton, 70 km from Jasper, accessible by car or free Staff Shuttle on Sundays and Wednesdays)

  • Yes, the tap water is absolutely safe to drink! Our drinking water is filtered from our very own Lac Beauvert where it is then treated on property and ready to hydrate. Bring your favourite water bottle and enjoy!

  • Weather in the mountains often fluctuates and can be unpredictable. We recommend bringing layers to ensure you are covered no matter the weather! In the Winter temperatures will fluctuate anywhere from -5C to -40C. In the Summer temperatures will fluctuate anywhere from 5C to 30C.

  • Jasper Transit
    Our municipal bus system has two stops on property that brings you right into town. They also have two additional lines that brings you to Pyramid Lake or Whistlers Campground. Colleagues ride free by showing your Staff ID, which you will receive during your orientation. For more information, you can visit:

    Walk/Bike
    Walking takes approximately 45 minutes, with biking being less time. There is a path that will take you into town without going along the highway. As a colleague, you can also borrow a bike for free!

  • Jasper townsite has you covered for everyday needs and a little adventure too! You’ll find everything from dentists, optometrists, and a hospital, to a mechanic, banks, and grocery stores. When it’s time to relax, explore the town’s cafés, restaurants, and bars, you’ll never run out of spots to enjoy your downtime.

    Looking to venture a bit further? The town of Hinton is just a 40-minute drive away and offers even more shopping and services, including Walmart, Safeway, and plenty of other options to stock up or explore.
